Virginia, Russell, Katherine, Jason and I settled down to watch the debates with some tuna melt sandwiches and 40's. Seeing Cheney speak was like seeing the man behind the curtain. You wondered where all of those intelligent comments and retorts went that disappeared from Bush's mouth during last Thursday's debate. Well, last night the puppet master spoke. Shouldn't we be concerned that our vice president is far more intelligent than our commander in chief? Edwards had a hard debate in front of him. We were glad he did so well. But this is no W. He was debating. Cheney is an intelligent, forceful man and a good politician. He doesn't fumble like our president, and he rarely looks stupid, just downright crooked and scary. We were laughing on the front porch "What if Edwards just said : Get off my back old man! You're the devil...America, he's the devil, I can feel the flames of hell underneath this table. Vote for Kerry." Speaking of table, who has ever seen a debate where the politicians sat down?

The vice presidential debates were held in Ohio, a coveted "swing" state.
