no sleep till brooklyn
It's 4:30 am again and I'm awake...again. There is nothing on television at this hour. Did you ever notice that? Only nick at nite or paid programs selling knives or loose raw gems.
No more coffee in the evening, I think. Maybe it's keeping me up. Maybe I'm just sleeping too late and getting everything out of whack. Maybe my apartment is either too hot or too cold. (just now, it's far too hot.) The heating is included and unless the thermostat downstairs in Nick's room works for up here, we haven't figured out how to adjust the heat.
My throat hurts. I guess it's my own damn fault for having such terrible sleeping habits. I hope I don't get strep throat. I used to get strep throat every semester at the end of a play or at finals. Seems sort of silly, now. I should have been drinking Emergen-Cee all week. That would have saved me.
Did you hear about water on Mars?
I got a care package from a friend this week. Homemade cookies!
This weekend I'm making my own homemade cookies to prepare for the holiday season. I really want to make sugar cookies and decorate them in hilarious ways. I'd really like to make no christmas things that are just funny on their own right like a cookie shaped like a toothbrush or a toaster or a light bulb. So brilliant.
I'm yawning a lot now. Wish me luck falling asleep for a few hours.
Also, please give me your honest advice....would it be completely wrong, loss of engergy recsourses etc. if I opened my window a crack and let it get chilly in here so I could get under the covers? Seems wasteful. Maybe you've thought up some justification.

You should have a window open at night when you sleep. Just a crack will do. We always have an open window at night.
Your throat is dry because of the heat and no humidity in the air.
Double dogged is right. A humidifier might help, especially if you have some type of dry heat source (radiator or forced air). I never thought about the open window, but I can see how that would help.
As for combating the cold--of which I currently have a small one--I used to overdose on OJ when in college. I remember feeling a cold coming on and drinking a half-gallon of OJ the same night. Never did get the cold. I haven't tried that remedy since then, but the Cold-eze stuff and Airborne stuff helps. In any event, here's hoping the cold ends.
And finally, no late-night caffeine. Not everyone can be impervious to the effects of caffeine like I am. ;-)
