Recently I've been thinking about office life a lot. How awful and mundane it is. And how your brain slowly churns with chipper "good morning" "how ya doin'?" and the "see ya tomorrow!" "bright and early" until it mutates into...Well nothing. The world changes until you are perfectly content to stare for a while and simply not think at all.

I try to keep reminding myself, "Jessica, you once thought in pretty sentences." what happened to: "the iridescence browns and blues," to the "she never sighed or said," and to the "curling up, curving around and floating up past you" ??

Here is a November Little One I wrote before my brain completely turned to mush. I think it is an applicable one about "living in love" with life:

Reach Up

Take me.
Hold me
Cupped in both your hands,
Startled and small.
With two gentle fingers,
Stroke the down of my underneath.
Feel my bones tremble to inhale
And the pulsing palpate beat.
Reach up.
Reel in this tender terror
Perched here
Now
And remember what it feels like to hold another living thing.
