my boss, katie, just asked me if i liked pickles, and then handed me a wet little sandwich baggie with her pickle from lunch. they are going to miss me here.
I made a new friend last night. But we decided that we were already old friends, just ones who didn't really ever speak or make eye contact with each other. we gave each other a nod before i left, but it was the sort of nod that felt a little like a hug if that makes any sense.

i didn't watch winged migration last night. no, no, it's okay. i was sleepy, anyway. I saw it before. Last August I was in Maine with Jeanne's family, and we went into Darmiscotta. There is a movie theater there. It has steep wooden steps painted blue. All of jeanne's family went and we took up an entire row across the theater. the children were good as they watched the cranes swoop and the geese glide. Jeanne's grandfather was the only one who refused to go, because he knew that he would love it.

Jaime's birthday seemed just perfect. I'm sure as the night went on, and they got more beer, it became even more perfect. i got her a pair of feet tied together with a ribbon in a pink bag with kitties on it. it was conceptual. i was sleepy before i left, and giggled like i had too much wine.

today, i washed my hair under the faucet in the tub with a bar of soap. it's almost dry now.

Jeanne made a list of interesting facts about herself the other day. see, a lot of times she will ask you ( if you are a stranger) "what the fuck do you do?" and she's kind of looking for someone to say: i get lost a lot when i'm driving, i once ate some peanut butter that had ants in it by mistake, i wake up in the middle of the night to pee and drink a glass of milk and go back to bed etc. etc.

I realized that the internet might very well like to know a list of strange things about me:

1.david letterman was my first crush. i bought 100 pre-stamped post cards to send him.
2.there was a time where i wore a tye dyed mickey mouse shirt..and often.
3.i have a secret tattoo inside my lip
4.i once hit a man with my car and drove away
5.i secretly would like to spill something on your new carpet to see your reaction
6.i have my entire back tattooed
7.i have freckles on my eyelids
8.i don't listen to music without prompting by others
9.i can't think of one food that i don't like enough to eat a little of.
10.i started a walk-a-thon in 4th grade for troops families of Desert Storm.
11.i graduated from highschool based on several lies supported by faculty
12.my senior prom was on my 18th birthday
13.i once waxed my pubic hair in the shape of a mustache
14.i sucked my thumb until the fourth grade
15.i hate when toll booth operators don't look you in the eye
16.I once had a malignant tumor the size of a large grapefruit
17.theatrical experience includes various performances of drunk elderly and goats.
18. once punched a bully at the pool. i was wearing a purple sparkily bathing suit.

My Monday posts are always so daunting because I have to recall what has happened for the past three days.

Friday: At the gym, I was just walking on the tread mill, it ends up that I was actually working out too hard. If I want to loose weight, I need more oxygen in my body and working out anarobically isn’t going to help at all. I loved when my trainer, Brian said that I had to slow down to loose weight. Who hears this? What an awesome day. Brian and I met Wednesday, and he saw me doing a quick little walk on Friday, he came over when I was just about done, and on my cool down.
“How are you doing?” he asked, nodding intensely, making direct eye contact.
“I’m doing well. I’m keeping my heart rate around 130.” We both nod and it is silent for a moment until I add awkwardly, “I think I am going to work out in the morning like you suggested.” We both nod again “I’m excited.” I said, and then looked down at my heart rate.
(I have a tendency, that Jeanne pointed out recently, to say really absurd things, like the day I bought the couch from the fat man, I shook his hand and said “ you are a really nice man,” which just made everyone feel uncomfortable. ..so I assume when I blurted out “I’m excited” to Brian, it was strange.)
Brian’s response was even more strange to me. As I was still walking on the treadmill, he climbs up on the side where arm rails are, reached up over them and suddenly hugged me. I was startled as I was walking. My arms folded up in front of me, protectively and then he was gone, so I walked with this confused look on my face until the machine beeped. I don’t think I’ve ever had a motivational-athletic-trainer hug before in my life.
When I was talking about this later to Jeanne and Evan, we realized that he is probably excited because I am one of the only young people at the gym. Evan was saying that I should try to get a lot of free trainer time out of this situation. I should just start sending him emails that say “help, I feel like quitting.” And get free pep talks.

Directly after my workout I got dressed and took the bus home to catch a quick dinner by myself outside of Eddie’s Market, and then catch a cab to Hampden. My boss didn’t come in to work and asked if I could bring her paycheck by her house. (Strange right?? Yes, that is weird, that’s why I’m getting out of here.) After that I walked to Chelsey’s dance recital. She was so adorable. All of the girls were decked out in these elaborate costumes that altered slightly between jazz, tap and ballet. There were lots of girls that where 14 and twice as big as me in lots of directions. They were for the most part, well, awful. There was one tiny little girl, I guess about 4 years old, and she was so cute, because she simply froze when she got up there in her little too-too, she just didn’t move for the entire song. Chelsey looked at her feet and broke into giggles once. But she really knew her moves, it was cute to watch the other girls follow a step behind and two steps behind the music. Her mother showed up for the first time in 6 years. There was some tension and pain when Chelsey saw her, but I was so impressed with how grown up she is, more grown up than her mother, and she knew it. Her grandmother told me that Chelsey is moving ahead to the 5th grade. As I was about to leave, her grandmother asked if I had some of the cake and then hugged me. She gave me one of those sudden unexpected hugs that I recently have become accustomed to.

Friday night, Jason and Jeanne and I went to Frasier’s for a minute where I saw Lori, Yuri’s girlfriend who I decided is my newest friend crush. We exchanged numbers and squealed a little bit. After Frasier’s we of course went on to Katherine’s beach-themed party. I didn’t know it was beach themed, but I happened to have worn the long cotton skirt I wear to the beach, just because. I drank some beers there and realized that I haven’t drank in like a month. Katherine’s house is beautiful, but especially beautiful with the cardboard surfboards they put on the walls for the party. I got to see so many people I missed. I’m going to list them here: Katherine, Nikki, Russell, Michael, Virginia, Chris and Mickey Freeland and Dan Keech (for obvious reasons.), Adam, Dan and Rich( who always get my psyched about summer), Laura Webster (clad in a Marc Jacobs bikini, I might add), Rachel (with delicious chex mix) Thom( who is excited about everything) , Katie (who gets me psyched about the 1920’s, this girl does synchronized swimming.), a bunch of other awesome homies from the gooch and beyond and maybe I was most excited about…Rufus, the reddest of them all. Jeanne, Virginia and I got a ride home with Allyson and her friend who I called dumb on the way home. I guess my inhibitions were a little low. Maybe I should write to her and apologize…but he was being kind of dumb.

Saturday:
Jeanne and I went for a long walk and looked at big houses and big bugs. The cicadas were out, hanging on blades of grass, leaving their shells. It was kind of exciting to see that there is an animal that can do what I have a desire to do very often, to hide underground until I am ready, and then break out of my skin and fly away. It must feel fantastic to escape like that.

When we got back, we sat on our stoop for a long while until I went to Jason’s house to be greeted with this fantastic bouquet of flowers. He even took the roses out of it because I told him once that I didn’t like roses and that I thought they were generic. What a guy. I hung out with Jason for a while and Jeanne went to take a shower, Michael and Russell came by and the five of us went to this place called Tamber’s Nifty Fifties. It is a fifties style Americana restaurant that also serves Indian food. Helena and Jaime were going to meet us soon. I got my favorite food to get there, Chicken Korma and Potato Nan. Afterwards a bunch of us went to see my new apartment, which I was supposed to move into that day, but instead went to the thrift store. We all did. I got a pair of cowboy boot shoes. They’re really weird and awesome. I also got some work clothes that apparently don’t fit well, I found out last night.

After all of this, Jeanne, Brian, Russell, Michael, Jason and I all went to the drive-ins. It was ended up being the cutest triple date. There were three cars and when it started to rain it was raining in the movie. And to answer your question, internet, they do play movies even during thunderstorms.

Sunday:
I went for a long walk by myself. A man laughed at my outfit. I was wearing running sneakers and a skirt, a cut up t-shirt and a sports bra…oh and my new red fanny pack. I thought I looked awesome but apparently this 50 year old dude with a grocery shopping bag thought I looked dumb.

I walked all around and went to Hampden and stopped by Katherine’s new place now that I know where it is and then stopped to get a gallon of water and some OJ and walked it back to my new apartment. Luckily I had saved one Burger King cup because I don’t have any dishes there yet. Just as I was catching my breath Evan called.

He pulled up in a wool cap on a very warm day, a tuft of his curly hair was sticking out of the back of his hat like a short tail of a toy dog. We drank Orange juice out of my BK cup and sat on my porch and caught up a little bit. We met with Jeanne back at the old apt. (which ruled because Evan drove me and I didn’t have to walk back) we got “coffee” which ended up being Evan getting coffee and me and Jeanne eating lunch. Afterwards we cut his hair on our back porch. It was still very big and puffy. Jeanne and I were so pleased with seeing Evan and talked about him as we walked to the art museum. He was such a nice addition to our day! Jeanne and I went the art museum to visit Lori, my new friend crush. She was really busy at work and didn’t have much time to talk to us, but it was really neat to look around at expensive things we probably wouldn’t buy and the shop became much like a museum itself. It ruled to see Lori though. We are totally going to be friends. The wave is about to break.

Believe it or not, it is only like 2:30 at this point. We meet up with Jason, and sit in his air conditioning for a minute. I also borrow his car keys so we can move stuff into our apt. I’m still wearing my very funny outfit. Jeanne and I went home and picked out 5 outfits to wear to work this week, so I could throw the rest of them into suitcases and laundry baskets to move them to my new apt. after I picked out the outfits, we sat and watched a little tv before the packing and moving. I kept falling asleep. I might have even been mid sentence. I laid down and told Jeanne to wake me up in 10 mins. She let me sleep for 30, and when I woke up there was a puddle of drool on my arm.

We moved a bunch of stuff all by ourselves, we threw my long carpet over the fence and beat it with a broom. It still has cat hair in it. Does anyone have a really good vacuum? My vacuum doesn’t work that well. At this point I’m wearing booty shorts and a new t-shirt and my fanny pack and running shoes.

Jason, Jeanne and I went to Holy Frijoles. I put on some jeans, but was still wearing my fanny pack. Corey gave us some food for free and I tried to hug him, but It became less of a hug and more of an awkward I’m-holding-both-of-your-arms, arm touching experience.

So, in a nut shell this weekend really comes down to three things, awkward hugging, fanny packs and things that rule.

Hi Miss Megan,

You had mentioned in your profile you would like to preserve the beauty of the US of A. I could not agree with you more. Have you ever cruised up the pacific coast highway or taken a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyo or toured the wine country (Sonoma/Napa) or the Tenessee mountains. I have been to these places just to name a few and let me assure you it is breathtaking. I could go on and on........

Hi Miss Megan,

I hope I peaked your interest. Sure would love to hear from you. It would be a refreshing change from the day to day doldrum of Kuwait. Later Gator.

It’s been harder and harder to post on my blog, because now that I have put in my notice, the bosses have found more things for me to do. (Right now, I’m typing in a word document so no one will see me typing in the shiny new blogger webpage.)
With all of this work, I think I might be being punished for leaving this office…but whatever, I’ll make do.

Chelsey showed up last night. she didn't do any school-work but she showed me her cheerleading moves that involve "vibrating" and "shaking" and "Gettin' low". Ladies and Gentlemen, Chelsey, my 10-year-old tutoree, was "Twerkin it"...with her hands down on her knees, and bowing her thighs, as the song says. On a not unrelated note, some of the city's highest drop-out rate and some of the cities highest teen pregnancy rates are found in Hampden's populations. da-da-da-da-da.

"...SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT, SHAKE IT, STOP!"
here's another one of my favorites of the day:
"...AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE RE-TAR-DATION, DAR DAR DAR! WE'RE NUMBER ONE!"[holds out two fingers]

Tomorrow is her ballet recital.

I know how this journal becomes a place for me to advertise for Bengies drive-in a whole lot, but bear with me. Did you see? This weekend they are playing Kill Bill 2! It’s an awesome line up really . You should really check it out. Jeanne and Jason and I are going on Saturday. Are you????

In other news, I don’t want to write here about the gym, or getting my fat pinched, or how much water I’m drinking, because as we all know, that shit is the most boring shit to read in the world.

During lunch today a tiny red spider crawled across my glasses. For a minute, I thought the red blurry spot was me going blind. One time when I got my first “floater” I heard about how sometimes it is actually the retina detatching, and ever since then, I’ve been really frightened of suddenly going blind. I had a dream about it once and was crying when i woke up because i'd never see the funny shaddow of a bumble bee

I sent sarah raz, out in the middle of the woods, a letter the other day. It was a print out of my blog for the past few weeks, I thought it would catch her up with my life and what not. But I realized that all of people she was out there with would think I was a terrible person for printing so much off the printer and not double siding it. Yep. Hey, Environment, I’m a jerk. I throw Styrofoam cups away at work and I haven’t bothered to recycle in a year. I don’t even break up my six pack rings before I throw them away. And compost! Compost is way way way past where I’m at right now. But to think, I was the fifth grade graduation award winner for the ecology club. I have my name on a plaque and everything. Ha.

I’m leaving here a week from tomorrow and counting the days.

I tutor chelsey every Wednesday. that statement is a lie. i tutor chelsey every Wednesday she feels like coming to the family center. for the past three weeks she hasn't shown up. Jessica G. said that maybe it was because she got a new puppy. her dance recital is this Friday and I know spring sports started. I don't know if she is going to pass the fourth grade. I asked her to talk to her teacher, and get back to me, and she never came back to tutoring. i wonder if her hips have grown in since i last saw her. it's been such a long time. ...tonight is the last night of tutoring.

i just called the rec center, chelsey goes there after school. her grandmother said that she needs help with fractions, she can't reduce 'em. chelsey said in the back ground "not uh, mummum, not uh. shuuut uuup."

but i swear, she is really a lovely girl.

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

yesterday i went to the gym and didn't realize that my boss was a member there also until i saw her pumping away on the machine i use in her teal and white reebok sneakers. I realized i was paranoid yesterday, and that I am a little nuts, but i swear she was racing me. there we are stationary on our elliptical machines, i saw her work out end and give her the little LED readout of heart rate and stuff, and then she stayed on the machine until i was finished. And the weirdest part was that every time i went faster (i was on the "random" setting) she went faster, even though she was doing hers manually. I guess i'm a creepy person who thinks way too much about the people around me at the gym..but it was really uncomfortable.

i tried to get to the showers before she was finished, i just didn't feel like having the conversation "oooh, i didn't know you had a..had a..ahem..a tattoo on your back." and then i would have to push my lips together into a tight toothless smile and nod as i said "yuuup. I do."

The best thing that happened was that their was this black trash bag and this woman (who would, in just a moment, take off her sports bra as she faced me so that her tits would gallop down drumming themselves against the stretched out skin of her stomach, nipples facing in various directions like cookie monster eyes.)
and she said to me, "What do you think is in that trash bag?"
"i hope it's not body parts i said."
she was quiet, i realized that that is probably a really really strange thing to say to a stranger who is about to expose herself to you.
"...uh, i guess i watch too many of those..."
"law and order," she jumped in, "svu, forensic files, oooh me too!"
And there was this moment where i understood that she sees everything around her differently solely because of an addiction to crime shows on television...or simply a prevalence of them on several channels at any time of day. i understood her, we were the same person. I, too, see duffel bags and lost gloves in a new light. I think about what luminol would look like on every carpet i walk on. I'm always looking for evidence and murderers and so was she. we were the same we were both smiling at each other with recognition of a new fraternity between us......and then fllooo-ooop-ooop the glorious moment came to a sudden and awkward halt as she flung her breasts at my face. i went back to drying my hair.

I am currently in graduate school at Hood College to get an MS in biomedical science. When I get out of the army I want to get an MBA and work my way into management of a drug company.

When i'm not worrying about class i'm down OC partying, reading books about military history/poly sci, playing computer games, watching movies. I especially like James Bond. Since i'm in the army I have to keep in pretty good shape so I run and exercise a lot but i'm not a John Basedow either (awesome abs commercial). I also like Baltimore sports teams, especially the Ravens. I like the Orioles too but they need some more pitching and clutch hitting. Viagra (Rafeal Palmerio) was a good aquisition and should definately help out.

You are really cute :). My photo should be up soon, the powers that be just need to make sure that my breast isn't exposed :). If you want to know more about me you can look at my profile and e-mail me.

That's pretty accurate I think.

I saw this link on this girl's Website who went to goucher with me. She was in some of my english major classes with me. She always wore (and still wears to my knowledge) a beany baby cat draped over her shoulder. I called her Kat for some reason. ...well, i guess the obvious one.

This weekend I went home for mother's day. I got her a strawberry planter. she loved it. she was fantastic when i went home. I helped her clean and spray paint the wicker lawn furniture.I cooked her breakfast and helped with a big dinner for all my brothers: my brother mike installed a stationary tub in the laundry room. my brother dan installed her wireless internet for her. Andy my brother joe is coming back later this week to till her garden for her.

We were finally a bunch of good kids. haha.

In the supermarket, I ran into this girl from my youth group in highschool when i was holding cream of mushroom soup for the casserole. she looked exactly the same as in highschool. she was a tall, soft, smiley girl who hugged a lot. She squealed a lot. But, I felt a connection to her for some reason. As always, she was wearing a thin, round cord around her neck as a choker necklace and a baby tee that was a little too tight, and a long denim skirt and sandals. she still insists on bleaching her hair. this girl, as jeanne reminded me, tried to make out with me to see if she was gay. There was this strange epidemic, for a while, where a lot of people i knew wanted to french me to see if they were homosexuals. both boys and girls. don't worry internet, as flattered as i was, i never did. wouldn't it be awful to kiss someone that was using you as an experiment? Why would they pick me anyway? high school was a strange, strange time.

on saturday i got this used couch from this dude that looked remarkably like the comic book guy in the simpsons if that guy wore an Orioles hat. The couch is really nice, and pulls out. Which is fantastic except for when two small girls are moving it (jeanne and i) and it a. is heavy b. keeps opening up like you are on a funny cartoon where you laugh because the same crappy thing keeps happening.

anyway, we got it into the house. it looks pretty with it's off white slip covers. so sophisticated. jeanne and i also got back from philly last night with a my car full of a double mattress, a coffee table and a few boxes and a cooler full of stuff. she helped me drag it all into the new apt. she is the best friend ever. It's pretty amazing how strong we are together.

we met this woman when we were moving things in. her name was linda i think. i might have just made that up. anyway, she helped us move in the couch, for a minute and then saw us moving the bed and stuff at midnight. she saw us at midnight because apparently she walks up and down the street in her bathrobe with a flashlight and her slippers on. this woman has gray long hair with long bangs, that are parted and feathered on the sides. she totally rules. last night, i had to break away though, because she went on talking about how she needed to get her car repaired because she has a lot of miles on it, and her daughter just bought a house in hanover that they are "building from the ground up."

my family says things like "building from the ground up", it's funny, you wouldn't be building from the sky down. but still it makes sense to say this.I noticed when i was home that my family says things like:
"we still have the chicken left yet"
which sound so "country" as Jason Dove would say. It would be correct if we had said:
"we have yet to have cooked the chicken"
But, that sounds just as weird to me.

you wanna hear a cute thing? ...duh of course you do, you're reading my blog. anyway, my brother went out to the hardware store to get something for sodering the pipes to the sink, and on the way back he stopped and got me a 1/2 a gallon of rosenberg's iced tea and a soft pretzel from "Sev." See, in the philly area, you stop at wawa or sev and you pick up a philadelphia soft pretzel as a snack. around my town people always drink these huge jugs of this iced tea, that with my sophisticated tastes, i now understand is a strong sugary mix. people carry them around like Ray with his jug of water. does anyone remember Ray? but the reason this story is adorable, is that my brother when he drove his Fox with the vanilla air freshener, we used to go to sev and get the same snack together. It was so sweet that he thought of me and brought it back. i love that guy.

yesterday i was wearing a weird outfit. it was warm, i was wearing a long skirt and a t shirt that fell off my shoulders. the skirt looked like a 40's house wife and the shirt was all flashdance and then i was wearing jeanne's shoes i borrowed that looked like little chinese woman's slippers. it was very confusing all together, but i think that it might be the way i'll dress all summer, it was so comfy.

i wonder if this entry was boring. ...it was so long. i wish there was some sort of rating system you could place on the bottom of your blogs, so people could rate them 1-10. virginia, is there something like this?

so long my many sweethearts!

yesterday, my bestfriend and roommate, jeanne marie got her nose pierced. i don't know how we are ever going to hide it from her mom!! hahaha. anyway, the point is, jeanne was really brave and didn't even whimper.

more importantly, yesterday, jeanne stumbled on this hysterical website called www.singlerepublican.com
i guess it's for all those right wingers tired of prospective partners turning out to be pro-choice or worse, someone who thinks that welfare is a good idea! So this website is binging together young couples that have the desire to pollute, protect captialism and the retain the right to bear arms witout nasty tree-huggers getting in the way.

jeanne and i made a fake account. MeganLynn. You all should make an account! maybe this would be the new Friendster! but secret and funny!

if you want to email "megan" You can email her at meganlynn2004@yahoo.com

Jason just called and said that he was talking to his Pen Pal, Josh from Perth, Australia and Josh said that he had a pet koala bear named “Tiger.” I got really excited because I thought this was the cutest thing on the planet! How freaking adorable! But it ends up the little bastard was “just shitting” with Jason, and you aren’t allowed to have Native Australian animals as pets. He said he could get arrested if it were true. Josh, if you are reading this: I’m crying now. Thanks a lot.

Internet, Josh seems like a cool dude. You can read all about how he and Jason met: here. I think the Jayman and I might take a romantic getaway out to the outback. That would be such a fun trip. Is Perth considered the “Outback”? I’ll be honest Josh, the only stuff American’s know about Australia is from that Crocodile guy,Foster’s commercials , a chain restaurant here called “Outback Steakhouse.” Are there really “Bloomin’ Onions” there?

I put in my two weeks here at my job. Well, a little more than that. My last day is the 21st of May. There was simply too much stress here for it to be a temporary job. What was the benefit of me missing lunch to work on someone’s Excel spreadsheet for someone else’s meeting that afternoon. I’m not “getting ahead” by doing so much work here…as a matter of fact, I’m not even getting benefits. So, I just said to my boss: “umm listen, I’m just really not getting enough time to post on my blog as I would like. I think I am going to look for a position somewhere else.”

I didn’t really say that. I can’t let you go on thinking I did. But it would have been really funny if I had.

By the way, I’m pretty sure my boss is wearing the same outfit she was wearing yesterday.

Everyone was pretty surprised when they got a little card on their desk with the news. I had this friend in high school that knew she was going to break up with her boyfriend but wanted to go to the prom with him so she didn’t let him know. She even threw him off the trail by doing sweet things for him the day before. …I felt like that because I just asked for a couple days off in JUNE, but it ends up I won’t even be here for June. They must think I am so weird. I’m leaving in just over two weeks.

I guess it isn’t the same as my friend, because well, I really didn’t know I was going to leave until yesterday. I didn’t even really know it was an option. I thought I was going to have to stay here forever.

I feel really obligated in this situation because the other administrative assistant is Lisa, that woman I’ve talked about before. She is going to be my neighbor soon and has a lot of problems. Everyday, she seems chipper but shaky and lost. I always feel like if I do some of her work, she can relax a little, I’m afraid she’ll go off the deep-end and I’m afraid she’ll loose her job and have no way of getting away from that guy she lives with. …and also, it’s kind of awful to know that she is coming in every day and she still hasn’t left him, and that she might never do so.

So the final straw? What was it? They have been asking me to clean the file room. Which, yes, is a shit job, but I wouldn’t particularly mind that except no one has used this file room for years. Nothing has been organized in over five years. How am I, with limited knowledge of this office supposed to purge and merge files and organize a system for them? But worst of all is that my boss kept breathing down my neck about it. “checking in on where we stand with the file room.” And when I had to write her an email in response to her asking Lisa to ask me how it was going, I decided that I didn’t want to deal with this shit.

I kind of feel like an asshole because the bottom line is that I don’t ever want to be someone’s secretary. I feel like a jerk because…well who wants to be someone’s secretary? Nobody, it’s a job that requires less education and I am being a snob for not enjoying this perfectly good job. …but I hate it.

So Internet, I guess it turns out that I’m a snob.

It was pretty simple really. After I wrote the “Chill the Fuck Out” email to Katie, and before I sent it, I called the temp agency and told them I was coming in at lunch to talk with them. Then, I deleted the email I wrote to Katie and wrote a “Still Chugging Along” email which was much more chipper and responded with “Jump? How high? I love being your secretary!”

I walked into Kelly and told them I wanted to leave. They were very supportive and awesome. They said things like “it sounds like you need to be more challenged, you seem bored there.” They said to just let them know when I wanted to put in my two weeks. I said, I’d like to put it in today. And that was that.

Jeanne says that I always make decisions like this. We were talking about Jeanne getting her nosed pierced recently. She has been thinking about it since she went to Italy two years ago. Jeanne thinks about things for a long time. She is a reasonable person. When she told me that she was thinking about it again, I found out how much and where and how late they were open. “We could go tonight!” This is when Jeanne pointed out that I am more unreasonable. I make decisions like this all the time.

Like when I met Jason, I had no problem jumping on a plane to go see him in Savannah when he was still a stranger. I decide things quickly. Like the tattoo on my back, and the one inside my lip. When I decide something I hate waiting, which might indicate that I do this because waiting longer might let me change my mind.

As a rule, quite literally actually, I don’t regret very much in life. I always say that any decisions I made helped create who I am today.
I do however regret:
1. Throwing a fruit roll up on the ground on purpose when I was four
2. Erasing my dad’s computer disks with a magnet and putting tacks in his cowboy boots. (Actually, I only really feel bad about the computer disks)
2. Being mean to Mandy in 5th grade about growing boobs first
3. Telling my brothers that Mike hit me, so they would hold him down and let me beat him up.
4. That hand-job during Golden Eye in 1997
5. Giving coloring books to oncology patients, but neglecting hematology.

…and in general I sort of regret the way I am constantly, which involves not trying my hardest, doing my best, telling the complete truth or being constantly vigilant about not letting people’s feelings be hurt or loosing friendships through the cracks of growing up and away. I regret not loving my mother more sincerely but instead out of duty and responsibility. Not being the type of person to write letters, bathe, clean my house or exercising on a regular schedule. I kind of regret not eating right, but that’s excluding burgers and cookies, of course.

…..but as far as regretting goes, that’s not too bad. So I think I will keep making decisions like this. I’ll keep “jumping in” if you don’t mind.

I’m going to go find out how much plane tickets are to Australia now.

I love you, goodnight.
xo

today i quit my job.
it totally ruled.

oh! and morgan reads my website. morgan, i've been too nervous to tell you, but i think your blog is awesome.

Monday, May 03, 2004

so, the drive in's were awesome. you all missed out. for reals. okay, the movies sucked, but it's the experience. it's d. edward vogal over your radio. it's americana. it was so strange to me, because before the movie began they play the national anthem. everyone gets out of their car, and stands beside their open car doors with their hats off and sings. this is just before the dancing hot dogs come on the screen. america is a weird place.

saturday i went for a nice long walk. it was really hot though, i was glad i wore lots of sunscreen. i should have worn shorts. i should own a pair of shorts, i guess.

the last pair of shorts that i actually owned and wore were this pair of old man's courdoroy teal shorts with an elastic waist band. in middle school i thought this looked awesome with my socks pulled up high and converse sneakers. i was never very interested in wearing shorts. i did however make a pair of short shorts for the dance party last summer. they were more like denim underpants though. in the summer when it is really hot, way too hot to wear jeans, i usually wear a little skirt and t-shirt combo. pretty sandels. i looked dressed up all summer, but i'm not i'm sweaty and gross, i just wear skirst which makes me look dressed up. i have very pale legs, internet. sometimes they look bluish because you can see my blood running through them.

as far as tanning, that doesn't really happen. my freckles just get darker. i get very very tan but only in tiny speckles.

this sounds like a summer entry, doesn't it.

speaking of summer, i bought a new bathing suit online. how does one order a bathing suit online, you ask? a woman would ask that because they know trying on bathingsuits is an incredibly laborious endeavor. i just bought two. one in the size i think i am, and one in the size i most likely, actually am. (bigger.) they are differnt colors and stuff, i figure when they come, i'll fit in one of them, and the other i can save for when i am fatter or thinner. they were pretty cheap.....but here is the problem....they said they can't ship them until may 28th (that's my birthday by the way) ....that totally sucks. summer will be here by then! and i ordered them WEEKS ago. should i cancel them?

i kind of like asking you advice, internet.

i should be cleaning my room now.

oxoxox
let's be friends.
no, really. let's.
